A Perfumed Anointing ~ a Love Spell by En Voyage Perfumer Shelly Waddington for Perfume Pharmer

A Perfumed Anointing ~

Makeda by EnVoyage Perfumes is expressly made to awaken carnal passion and to issue a siren call of seduction and intrigue.

Makeda uses the magic of herbal planetary correspondences with mercury, neptune, jupiter and venus, to awaken passion and invoke love.

Bitter orange is considered to be the magical fruit of love and fertility shared among the ancient goddesses of mythology.  Associated with modern quests, it used to strengthen the seeker and to reward the victorious.

Fruits of Venus, the goddess of ardor and sensuality, are used to conjure attractiveness, appeal, seductiveness, eroticism, ecstasy, elegance, and rapture.

Jasmine is known to stir the imagination,

and is the sacred herb of the goddess Diana, who was renowned for her beauty, glamour, and compassion.

Cedar, the fragrant wood burned by the ancients, is associated with Mercury, the carrier of messages, is used to evoke insight and to bestow blessings between lovers.

Family:  Oriental-Woody

Top notes: Pamplemousse, Mediterranean Fruits of Venus, Bitter Orange des Caribes
Middle notes:
French Jasmine Sambac
Base notes:
Cedarwood, Agarwood, and Sultry Musks

Mood: Lyrical, mysterious, passionate, and carnaI

Wear Makeda to cast a spell of inner queenly power and your own personal song of desire.

Awaken Passion, Invoke Love

Hey, Shelley, this sounds like the perfect partner x for the boudoir… tempting, romantic, and seductive; a whisper in the ear. Bring it on…

Marlene 02/02/2011 at 2:18 pm

Bitter orange, jasmine, and musk – Shelley, you must be from planet Venus! And Skye, your accompanying pictures are perfect. Valentine’s Day just doesn’t get more erotic than this….

JoanElaine 02/02/2011 at 4:52 pm

I would love a chance to try this fragrance. I have sampled a few of Shelley’s perfumes, Carmel de Ville being one of my favorites!
(I’m in Canada, so I don’t know if I qualify)

Lyn Ayre 02/02/2011 at 7:40 pm

I’m in Canada, too, so I hope I qualify. Hi, JoanElaine, where are you located? Yes, Carmel de Ville is one of my faves, too.

Susan 02/02/2011 at 9:09 pm

Congratulations on Annointing of your new fragrance. It sounds like the next best thing to a trip to an exotic tropical paradise.

Erich 02/03/2011 at 1:55 am

Jasmine is my favorite…love that smell. You are so talented Shelley!

JoanElaine 02/03/2011 at 5:57 pm

Hi Lyn,
I’m on the east coast. Crazy snow here! Where are you?

Maggie Mahboubian 02/03/2011 at 6:48 pm

I’m intrigued with the “Mediterranean Fruits of Venus”! What could they be? Obviously not something one would find at the farmer’s market. Looks like Makeda would be the only source and how delightful it would be to experience!

Lyn Ayre 02/03/2011 at 8:42 pm

Hi, JoanElaine, we’re on the SW coast of BC and have been really spoiled this winter compared to a lot of others.
Warmly, Lyn

Well, this sounds like a winner. The combination of fruits, cedar, and oud is intriguing. I knew a Makeda in college; I wonder what the name means?

Zala 02/05/2011 at 1:34 pm

Absinthe Dragonfly let me know about this drawing :) Her perfumes are out of this world! I’m wearing a body lotion right now called Monoi Pitate (jasmine scent) and I’ve fallen in love with Tiare (will send you some soon Abs ;) <3

Holly 02/06/2011 at 1:06 am
