A Midsummer Night’s Dream Scent Event…Part 6…Peaseblossom Eau de Toilette, Pixie Dust, and Bottom’s Dream…Natural Perfumes ~ fairy fragrances and love potions! reviews Ida Meister and Monica Miller

Ida Meister on Pixie Dust and Bottom’s Dream by Esscentual Alchemy.

Pixie Dust : a shimmering opening into a strawberry-scented sylvan glade.
Very playful yet lingering, the fir/ strawberry pairing is a concept which works!
The supporting, more resinous substances only serve to prolong longevity and accompany the theme, like musical variants…

Amanda Feeley, Perfumer’s Description: Pixie Dust Botanical Perfume is a scented description of an ancient British forest. The kind you would have found in the 16th century. There was magik in these forests and always plenty of little folk. I wanted to evoke the deep earthy green, the warm sunshine, and perhaps even the wind in your hair…as you quickly turn and notice the sparkle of the wee ones flitting past you.

Notes: Antique Oakmoss, Angelica Root, Fire Tree, Vanilla, Poplar Buds, Lilac Tincture, Violet Leaves, Honey/Beeswax Tincture, Rose Damascus, Karo Karounde, Rosewood, Lavender Reserve, Bergamot, Davana, Balsam Fir, Heliotropin Natural isolate, Strawberry Furanone Natural Isolate.

” Over hill, over dale,
Through bush, through briar,
Over park, over pale,
Through flood, through fire,
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon’s sphere;
And I serve the fairy queen,
to dew her orbs upon the green.
The cowslips tall her pensioners be;
In their gold coats, spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours,
In their freckles live our savours.
I must go seek some dew drops here,
And hang a pearl in every cowslips ear.
Farewell, thou lob of spirits, I’ll be gone;
My queen and all her elves come here anon!”

Fairy, scene 1
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, William Shakespeare

Bottom’s Dream : SO full of longing !
It is a dreamy blend of peach, rose/ jasmine petals, with a softly earthy leathery base-
Not unlike Bottom’s great donkey ears ;-0
Frolicsome and a little bit wistful…. Ida Meister.

Amanda Feeley, Perfumer’s description: Bottom’s Dream Botanical Perfume is a scent without a bottom because it was a dream without an end…

Notes: Handmade Peach Accord, Palmarosa, Phenyl Ethyl Acetate Natural Isolate, Jasmine Grandiflorum, Rose Maroc, Tagetes, Araucaria.

” I have had a dream, past the wit of man to say what dream it was… The eye of man hath not heard, the ear of man hath not seen, man’s hand is not able to taste, his tongue to conceive, nor his heart to report, what my dream was.”
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, William Shakespeare

in the kindest way
like seeing a reflection of
my original face
in a fairy forest pool

On his merry way through the sylvan woods

Dearest Amanda, Bottom’s Dream is my Scent of the Day, the 24th. June 2011. Seems appropriate for the very last day of A Midsummer Night’s Dream Scent Event! The peach accord is just divine, and I feel so warm and cuddly with this scent! XO ~ Monica

Dear Justine, my gossamer wings have been spread all over my arms ~ Peaseblossom is surely the sheerest rainbow scent ever!
