PATCHOULI PERFUMES
Think the roller ball alters the odor – to soften and make metallic the scent. Can’t smell out of bottle, need to apply.
Left side nostril smells the scent; right side nostril smells the intensity. Smell left, smell right and then waft to get the entire scent experience.
First I smelled them all and noted some favorites and then applied them over a 3- day period to smell tenacity.
All those of low tenacity (30-minutes or less )were immediately removed –whether I liked them or not. Most customers want odors that last.
Rules: 25% Patchouli in the scent base and probably 85% alcohol
Alcohol based.
EdP – Eau de parfum, parfum de toilette, or eau de perfume (EdP) contains less perfume oil than perfume extract. It is also less likely to cause allergic reactions. Most eau de parfum fragrances have less than twenty percent aromatic compounds, but as the term is not regulated, the exact percentage will vary from company to company. These descriptions are not ‘out of the bottle’ scent but on my skin descriptions.
1. Pale gold color, clear, non-viscous, medium intense. Web l. thumb, 6:15 pm. I don’t know why but I get a blue color in my head. This is not a favorite scent. Pretty much gone by 6:45 pm.
2. Medium gold, clear, non-viscous, sparkling medium intensity. Web l. thumb. 6:42 am. Top note changes in a minute to the heart note of a warm diffuse perfume. Scent over by midnight – 2 hours
>>3. Pale gold, clear, non-viscous, very low intensity. Interesting complex odor, applied at 8:13 am on back of left hand. 8:36 still good – not my favorite perfume for me but I understand its nature. 10 am subsided to a faint powder, earthy odor. Still refreshing back note at noon.
4. Pale yellow, clear, non-viscous. Sharp penetrating odor. 4 pm – Citrus then floral then powder. Faded away by 4:30 pm.
5. Pale yellow, clear, non-viscous, not intense. Soft floral and citrus. 6:15, it was lost by 6:20 pm.
6. Very pale yellow, clear, non-viscous, sharp intense odor. Strong citrus odor, limey. 4:35 pm. Would probably make a good base for a man’s aftershave. Has no depth, fades to almost nothing by 4:45 pm
>7. Pale gold color, clear, non-viscous, medium intense. Web r thumb, 4:15 pm Umm! Perfume! 5 pm gone – no lasting scent but pleasant for the short term.
8. Pale gold color, clear, non viscous, not intense. I get a plunging waterfall smell in a jungle. Applied at 5:52 pm. Dries down to earthy back note. Scent disappears on me by 6:30 pm.
10. Dark gold, clear, non-viscous. Warm, strong odor. 6:30 am. Web r. thumb. Strong, dark brunette hot Mediterranean Coast odor for a dark brunette. Has good tenacity but it is not a favorite scent. Smells hot, burnt.
11. Pale yellow, clear, non-viscous, not intense. Smells Unisex. Soft powdery odor, it’s sharp when applied. Apply at 7:16 r. arm. Top note gone in a few minutes. Dry down to a pleasant soft powder odor at 7:46.
12. Medium gold color Clear, non-viscous. Thumb left web at 9:30 am. The Patchouli? Separated out and it makes me wonder. Not a scent I liked.
13. Medium gold color. Clear, non-viscous. 10:44 right wrist pulse. I am put off by the odor. Green, woody and floral with a slightly fruit back note. Dries down to soft powder note by 12 noon.
>>>14. Dark gold color Clear, non-viscous. Thumb right web at 9:30 am Chypre, not a favorite at the beginning. But it dried down to a yummy brown sugar odor. At 6 hours I like the intensity of it, the reality of it. This is a real perfume. It still smelled on my arm 18 hours later with a pleasant odor.
#1 = #14 had a good working odor for 18 hours. (Royal Water by Rodney Hughes, Therapeutate)
#2 = #3 worked for several hours – Not necessarily my favorite scent, but smelled like a true synergy where one thing did not overtake the other. (Go Ask Alice by Shelley Waddington, EnVoyage Perfumes)
#3 = #7 great scent for the short term. (Rose Boheme, by Charna Ethier Providence Perfumes)
